Boasting it's own private shoreline, complete with jetty and boathouse, Achnasmeorach House is located on the banks of Loch Awe and offers luxury accommodation for up to 12 guests. The house is surrounded by the dramatic and wonderful scenery of Argyll with Ben Cruachan as a backdrop and of course magnificent views across the loch.
Furnished to a very high standard, the house is perfect for special occasions, memorable family gatherings and short breaks for groups of friends. There is never a shortage of entertainment at Achnasmeorach House with facilities including a hot tub, private fishing, kayaks and of course plenty of lovely walks direct from the house or along the lochside road or to the surrounding hills.
You will discover the highlight of Achnasmeorach House when you realise the shoreline is just yards from the front door. This is a glorious setting with a private bay beach on the shores of Loch Awe allowing guests to fully relax and soak up the unforgettable views.
Day long barbecues and picnics can be enjoyed on the decking around the smart boathouse and children will delight at the opportunity to play games on the large lawn area, jump off the pier or take advantage of the private fishing rights on the loch. Memorable dinners can be enjoyed around the large table with spectacular view across Loch Awe loch.
If you fancy going our to dinner, The Kilchrenan Inn, one of Scotland's best gastro pubs, is just a 12 minute walk from the house.
This home excels both indoors and out, and plenty of enjoyment can be found outdoors in the summer months. An enclosed garden area is ideal for allowing children to play; a fun fort and five-a-side football goals will keep the young ones entertained for hours. Older kids will love the games cabin featuring a competition pool table, competition football table, dartboard and CD jukebox with music to suit all tastes, and the private 7 seater Hotspring hot tub will no doubt be a big hit with every guest.
On the foreshore there is the jetty, decking with picnic table, plus the boat shed which houses the canoes/kayaks, a full range of differently sized life jackets plus a basic range of fishing rods and equipment. Feel free to bring your own boat which you can launch from our slipway or you can hire locally from Cliff at Loch Awe Boats who will gladly deliver a boat to you at the beginning and collect at the end of your visit
Please note there is a burn and small pond within the garden; young children must be supervised.
The heart of the home can be found on the ground floor, in the open-plan kitchen and dining room with stunning views to Loch Awe. To one side, you have a well-equipped kitchen with American-style fridge/freezer, traditional country AGA and even a bread maker for fresh morning baking. To the other side of the room, you can settle at the spacious dining table and enjoy far-reaching views across the loch. Alternatively, more casual breakfasts can be enjoyed at the breakfast bar or in the garden room, also offering wonderful views of the water. Two opulent rooms are perfect for watching TV and relaxing. The first is a traditional drawing room with a wood burner and French doors leading to the garden room, whilst the second is a family TV room with huge L-shaped cushy sofas. Both have Sky TV with sports packages included.
