Delightfully situated in the picturesque Blackdown Hills, an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty this is the perfect place to take a holiday or special break at any time of the year. This part of East Devon is a walker’s paradise with numerous scenic walks straight from your door. The glass fronted balcony, with tree top views of the Blackdown Hills, is an ideal spot to relax and unwind. Below it is a grassy area available to all our guests to enjoy. Plenty of parking space and there is a charging point for an electric vehicle (please request in advance of your holiday). Laundry Room available to all guests with washing machine and tumble drier (small charge applied)
The front door opens into a spacious lobby with a flight of stairs leading to the apartment above. A delightful Edwardian washstand, complete with original tiles, gives you your first taste of the eclectic furnishings in the Apple Loft.
First Floor Description
At the top of the stairs the open plan apartment is cleverly designed with the sleeping area to one side and the living space to the other.
A comfy sofa is carefully positioned to make the most of the view over the Blackdown Hills, while an electric optic-mist 'wood burner' ensures a cosy feeling on a winter's evening. Locally sourced ingredients are easily available and a it's a pleasure to cook up a meal in the well equipped galley kitchen that includes a large fridge/freezer and dishwasher.
The sleeping area has a beautiful Victorian iron bedstead as well as some quirky touches - an old campaign chest and a set of steps for storage that originally came from an old boat. The free standing slipper bath, perfect for a relaxing soak, is carefully screened for privacy. Ensuite shower, toilet and basin.
Window Views Description
The views take in a patchwork of gently rolling hills, fields divided by hedges and trees, farms and the occasional cottage dotted amongst them. Plenty of birds and wild life.
