Cobnut is ideal for small families or couples who require more space and can sleep up to 4 guests two separate ensuite bedrooms. The accommodation which is over two floors has wonderful rural views across the valley and into the courtyard.
Cobnut is one of just five luxury, award-winning luxury self-catering holiday cottages at Heath Farm in the Oxfordshire Cotswolds. The cottages can accommodate between 2 – 4 adults and have been furnished and fitted to a very high standard. For a larger group you may prefer booking Cobnut & Chestnut together known as Aslan. All cottages can be booked (only for weekly break) and can accommodate 14 guests.
Delightfully situated these old stone farm buildings are set in 70 acres of meadow and woodland. This is a nature lovers paradise and walkers and cyclists also love it here. Grouped around a stunning paved courtyard the cottages make the ideal base for a holiday or break at any time of the year.
Heath Farm is ideally placed for exploring the beautiful villages and historic towns of The Cotswolds with plenty of cultural and leisure activities to be found in places such as Oxford, Stratford and even closer by in Chipping Norton, Banbury and various other towns in the stunning Cotswolds.
As well as the magnificent courtyard with water feature and herb and flower adorned borders there are also 70 acres of amazing private woodland and meadow to explore. There are communal gardens with flower borders, comfortable seating and great views overlooking the courtyard and valley beyond. Past the orchard there's a games lawn which has a croquet pitch and games shed packed full of kit including kids archery, giant jenga, kites, bat & ball games and more. There's also a 14ft diameter trampoline and also a woodland stage. Feel free to roam around the woodland at your own pace. We also have a games room which has a pool table, table tennis, darts board, movie projector and sound system. There's also a host of board games, DVD's, musical equipment and books which you are welcome to take to your cottage. There's also an exercise bike, gym mats and even a telescope available to use! We have a number of commercial units at the farm which house 3 joinery shops, a motorbike showroom, tiling showroom, 2 bakeries (cakes only) and a sound recording studio.
From the stunning courtyard you step up into the verandah, (quarry tile floor) which has plenty of space for coats and boots. The rest of the ground floor of Cobnut has a solid hardwood elm floor throughout. From the verandah the main door in to the cottage has a ¼ turn handle operating a latch on the inside. To the right is the downstairs cloakroom. There is a washer dryer machine and small airing cupboard. Beyond this through a sliding wooden door is a loo and basin. The living area has two armchairs and large sofa and open fireplace. There's a 40" Smart TV and soundbar plus a selection of books. The living room opens in to the dining area at the far end of the cottage. There is a large refectory table (seats 8) and a wide set of windows overlooking the valley and view of pond. The kitchen is open to the dining area but not visible from the living area. It has eye level fridge, oven and microwave. The kitchen is very well equipped even for the advanced chef!
First Floor Description
An open tread wooden staircase leads from the living area to the upstairs. There are 12 risers with a ¼ turn near top to arrive at small landing between the bedrooms. A beautifully crafted curved handrail guides you over the turn. To the left is the front bedroom with a latch door. The windows overlook the stunning courtyard. The beds have been designed to make two 3’ singles or one super king. The bedroom is in the eaves and has visible horizontal beams along one of the sloping walls. There is a shower room through an opaque glass and wood screen with push door. There is a step down from wooden floor on to tiled floor (tumbled marble). The shower is large and has a glass wall. You step up over a small lip into the shower which is also tiled. To the right of the upstairs landing is the back bedroom. again with a latch door. This has fantastic views over the valley. Again it has beds which can be either 3’ twins or one superking. It has a bathroom through opaque glass and wood screen with push door. There is a bath with central mixer tap and shower attachment (not a stand up shower). There is also a bidet. The floor is small marble tiles.
