The market town of Thirsk, 2 miles away, includes The World of James Herriot visitor attraction and makes for a great day out. Thirsk racecourse holds regular events and a nearby golf club is bound to entice any putting fans. Also nearby is popular Monk Park Farm attraction, which has been awarded runner up in a Small Farm Attraction of the year, with plenty of animals and entertainment for all. Centrally located for exploring the Yorkshire Dales and the North Yorkshire Moors or even a trip to the Yorkshire Coast. Within 25 miles is the historic walled city of York with its magnificent gothic Minster, Railway Museum, and the famous tea rooms for afternoon tea.
