Outside Description
Gospenheale is a tiny hamlet of just four properties. The Barn has it's own separate entrance off the road onto a large gravelled area with plenty of space to park and turn several cars. A lawn runs down one side of the parking area and there is a rotary clothes dryer here for guests use. The garden is enclosed by a wooden post fence and our landscaper did an excellent job building the stone walls which surround the grass and mature shrubs and creates a sheltered patio area. A large round table and six comfortable chairs are provided for relaxation and outdoor dining. All ages are welcome to use the swing ball and other garden games and our youngest visitors will enjoy the ride on tractors. The planting in the containers is changed depending on the season and the bird feeders attract an amazing variety of species including Woodpeckers, Nuthatch and Goldfinches.
Downstairs Description
Gospenheale Barn is an 'upside down' conversion so all three bedrooms are on the ground floor. Underfloor heating keeps the Italian porcelain tiles lovely and warm when it's cold outside and both bathrooms benefit from heated towel rails. The master bedroom with a kingsize oak bed is to your left from the entrance hall and has an ensuite shower room. The second bedroom has 3' single beds which can be zipped to create a very large double. There's plenty of room for a cot to be added to this room on request and it's next to the family bathroom so very convenient for privacy when two couples are sharing the Barn. The third bedroom has a 3' single bed with a 2'6" pull out bed for when six guests are staying. All three bedrooms have black out roller blinds. Jo Downs fused glass features in the windows and mini tiles in both bathrooms. Mark Gibbons watercolours of local places are found throughout the Barn.
First Floor Description
As they reach the top of the wooden staircase the reaction of many of our guests is "Wow, it's even better than the photos"! The whole of the first floor is one open plan room with the living/dining area separated from the kitchen by the balustrade of the stairwell. Oak A-frames span the vaulted ceiling and large windows allow lots of natural light into this beautiful space. Comfy leather sofas allow for relaxation when watching the smart TV which has a sound bar and DVD player. Here you can browse the information file and plan interesting days out exploring Cornwall and Devon using the large range of up to date leaflets, maps and walk books provided. An oak dining table easily seats 6 people and a highchair and stair gate are available on request. Self catering is easy in the large well equipped kitchen where you will find all that you need to prepare meals. There's plenty of space for all guests to help out! We have tried to provide all the little extras we would like to find when we're on holiday.
Window Views Description
Set in Cornish farmland, all window views from Gospenheale Barn include fields, hedges and often sheep and cows. The downstairs bedroom windows open out onto the private garden, patio and gravelled parking area. From the first floor living room glass door you can see as far as Dartmoor in Devon as well as the patchwork of fields and trees that surround the property. You may glimpse the next door farmer tending his sheep and cattle from the kitchen window. To get a better idea of the space please view our video which includes drone footage or look at Google earth to see how we have the best combination of easy access (as we are only a 1/4 mile off the main road) and peaceful countryside.
