Hillcrest is perfectly located on the edge of the village providing privacy, peace & quiet yet within easy walking distance to the Punchbowl Inn well known for its good food and plentiful cellar.
The cottage is ideal for a family or friends and can accommodate up to 5 guests in 3 bedrooms; king-size master bedroom & single on the first floor and a double bedroom on the ground floor. There are 2 bathrooms, kitchen, dining room, utility / boot room and first floor sitting room where you can relax with something chilled and take in the views. The cottage is warm and cosy at any time of the year and has full central heating, log burning stoves, south facing garden and parking.

Hillcrest sits on an elevated position on the edge of the common in the village of Low Row. The south facing garden is riot of colourful cottage garden flowers in summer and early bulbs in spring. There is plenty patio area (furniture supplied) to sit and enjoy the patchwork of fields on hills beyond, the stone walls snaking their way up the fell and the sheep in valley bottom. At certain times of the year local farmers turn out their sheep & lambs on the common land that surrounds the cottage - a fascinating & entertaining sight. The common runs right through the village and it is not unusual to see sheep grazing the grass on the common and the roadsides. Hillcrest has a garage that guests are welcome to use plus parking outside and opposite the garage.
The dining room with English oak dining table and chairs and antique continental dresser looks out over the garden. The large log burning stove gives the room a cheery welcome at meal times. Bookshelf bursting with maps, books of every description including lots of local interest, games and few little extras for the children. A small inner hall with coat hooks leads through to the kitchen which runs the full width of the cottage. Well equipt with range style electric cooker, tall fridge freezer & dishwasher, plenty of cupboards well stocked with crockery, cutlery, pans, bowls, ovenware and slow cooker. There is lots of worktop space, kettle, toaster & microwave. The kitchen window looks east towards the common and church beyond. The door at the end of the kitchen leads to:- The downstairs shower room with walk in shower, toilet and handbasin. This room is warmed by underfloor heating and a heated towel rain. Off the shower room is the utility room with washing machine, more coat hooks, boot rack and back door - perfect for entering the cottage with outdoor boots and dogs. The door at the bottom of the stairs leads to the spacious ground floor double bedroom which has lovely views of the garden. Comfortable pocket sprung double bed with quality linen, feather or wool duvet (depending on the season) plus wool & feather pillows. A lovely light room however like the other bedrooms at Hillcrest, it has a blackout blind for those guests who perfer a dark room.
First Floor Description
Unusually Hillcrest's sitting room is on the first floor, the reason being, to take advantage of the views. The sitting room has two south facing windows with mesmerising views of the dale. A small log burning stove adds to the appeal of this cosy room with its two sofas, tv and coffee table. The master bedroom enjoys the same fabulous views - what a place to wake up to in the morning! This bedroom has a king-size bed with memory foam topped pocket sprung mattress, luxury linen, feather duvet & bedspread (depending on the season), 2 feather and 2 wool filled pillows. Large floor to ceiling built in wardrobes and full length mirror. The single bedroom is also on this floor again with quality mattress and lovely linen, antique pot cupboard at the bedside and a pine set of drawers. No need to use the pot cupboard for its original purpose as next door, on this floor, is the family bathroom. The bathroom is furnished with a bath with shower over, toilet, handbasin, bathroom shelf, shaving light, socket & mirror. Radiator and towel rail. A bath & hand towel per person plus bath mats are provided at Hillcrest.
Window Views Description
Hillcrest has an enviable location within the village which provides the cottage with jaw dropping views. The four principle rooms at Hillcrest; sitting room, dining room, master & double bedrooms have views of the garden, meadows, fell and the huge skies above. The single bedroom and kitchen windows look east over common land and beyond to the village & church. Even the bathroom has a view! This window looks over fields and up the dale to the hills in the west.
