This beautiful and spacious farmhouse is located in an idyllic spot south of Oban. Perfect for extended families and groups the property can comfortable accommodate up to 13 guests and 2 well behaved dogs. The property is a great choice for those looking to holiday or celebrate a special occasion together and is also a walkers and nature lover’s heaven.
The property has a large lounge with open fire and can easily accommodate all of the guests in comfort. There is a fully equipped kitchen with a large dining area that can seat everyone in the group. The house is flexible and has 5 bedrooms offering a choice of twin, double, triple and family rooms.
Outside there is a large garden with a play house for the children, a seated patio area and even a dog kennel and run. You can walk direct from the house up the Glen to Loch Scammadale and beyond, or utilise the house fishing permit.
Lagganmore house is situated in a half acre garden largely laid to lawn with trees and shrubs. There is a patio area adjacent to the house with some seating around a table and parasol. A Barbecue can be put out on the patio if your group would like. Our patio area has an assortment of flower tubs, herb box and bird feeders with bird food provided for your stay. Additional seating down on the grass extends the availability of outside sitting and dining. There is a small play house for the youngsters and parking available for a comfortable 4 cars, more if required. An additional space to the rear of the house provides a drying area and a larger herb garden for guests to use.
Lagganmore House's downstairs accommodation includes a lounge, music room, TV room, dining room, kitchen, utility room, downstairs hallway and cloakroom. The lounge is a large, comfortable room with views up the glen. With an open-fire and a blue tooth music centre the lounge is an ideal room for groups relaxation or celebrations. The music room with a piano, guitar and other instruments can be used by musical guests or as an additional sitting room. The TV room has a wide range of games, DVD's and books as well as TV and DVD player. With a double sided wood burning stove shared with he dining room this is a cosy space to share time with family and friends. Housed in the conservatory with lovely views to the outdoors and the patio area the dining room is a lovely space to enjoy food with family and friends. The kitchen is a well equipped facility including AGA, electric fan oven, larder fridge and dishwasher. The utility room has a chest freezer, washing machine and tumble drier and all eco friendly cleaning supplies required for your stay. The back hall way has space for dog beds if you have brought your dogs with you and finally the downstairs loo completing the ground floor accommodation.
First Floor Description
Lagganmore House has 5 bedrooms providing a variety of flexible accommodation that should suit most groups. The purple bedroom has a king size bed and a single bed overlooking the front garden and up Scammadale Glen. This room has an en-suite bathroom with a roll top bath. The yellow bedroom is a twin room situated at the rear of the house with bright light decor, the lilac room is a second twin room but situated at the front of the house overlooking the front garden with a lilac thistle themed decor. Our turquoise room is a family room comprising a queen bed, a set of bunk beds and there is an additional trundle bed that can be rolled out if your group requires accommodation for 14 people. The red room, situated at the rear of the house is a double room with a warm red decor. A shower room, adjacent to the red room and a bathroom with an overbath shower are both well stocked with towels, bath mats, locally produced hand and shower wash.
Window Views Description
Lagganmore House is situated in the beautiful Scammadale Glen. The house faces south west so has views east up the glen where the sun rises between the hills that divide Scammadale and Loch Avich area. The sun travels round the front of the property setting at the other end of the Glen. The house has views of the glen, its hill and down towards the River Euchar. Scammadale is a haven for wildlife with a large red deer population that can often be seen on the hill behind the house. Views often include our resident heron, pheasant and a vast array of wild birds including golden eagle. We have even been known to watch a pine marten playing along the banks of the stream.
