Perrycroft, historic holiday cottages.
Perrycroft Holiday Cottages are within the grounds of Perrycroft, an Arts and Crafts gem high on the Malvern Hills, designed by renowned architect CFA Voysey, and built in 1895. The Old Stables is one of three holiday cottages at Perrycroft, each one ideally located to explore the Malvern Hills AONB and surrounding area.
The Old Stables was as its name suggests formerly part of the original stables for Perrycroft. Beautifully furnished in vintage mid-century style, with sumptuous textiles and vibrant art work, the mainly single storey cottage has an open plan feel to the living areas. Accommodating up to five people, The Old Stables will have great appeal both for families with children and for groups wishing to explore the wonderful scenery of the Malvern Hills right on the doorstep.
The Malvern Hills area is a walker’s paradise with fabulous footpaths available straight from your front door. This charming and comfortable, dog friendly cottage is perfect for short breaks and longer holidays and is available all year round. The ideal holiday cottage from which to visit the Malverns, the Cotswolds, Welsh Borders and beyond.
The Old Stables is tucked away in a very quiet location behind the main stable yard. The fully fenced large garden has a generous stone paved patio with a luxurious herb garden attracting bees and butterflies, a barbecue, and a table and chairs for outdoor dining. A small level lawn to one side has a washing line, and to the other side an area of sloping meadow leads to a raised wooden bench and table from where there are lovely views to the south and west. Just outside the garden gate is parking for two cars, and further parking is available close by on request.
Entering through the old ledge and brace door with original Arts and Crafts hinges, you turn left to the living areas. Here to the front of the cottage is a lofty sitting room with a double height ceiling, very light and airy. This room has a comfortable corner sofa and Swedish sheepskin armchairs, with a deep pile rug on the cork floor which extends throughout the living areas. Behind is the dining room with a vintage G-Plan table and sideboard, and beyond this the large modern fitted kitchen with its 1960s formica topped kitchen table. Turning right from the front door you find the two ground floor bedrooms and two bathrooms. The largest bedroom can be made up with either twin beds or a super king depending on your needs. The smaller bedroom has a large single antique brass bedstead, both bedrooms also being furnished with vintage mid-century cupboards. The main bathroom and the adjacent shower room are both stylishly equipped with contemporary sanitary ware, and the shower room contains a utility Belfast sink and washing machine.
