This delightful 18th Century stone cottage brings you a beguiling mix of contemporary comforts with timeless elegance, thanks to carefully-chosen modern fixtures and fittings that blend perfectly with period furniture taken from Castle Howard itself. There is a beauty and sophistication to each room and little details like the roll-top bath, antique wooden Welsh dresser and wood-burning stove simply add to the charm.
The owners of The Green provide guests with a voucher to use at the Castle Howard Farm Shop, along with free entry to Castle Howard valid for a day of your choice. So you really can make the most of your idyllic location and explore this magnificent estate. A little further on are the Howardian Hills and North York Moors, with their endless footpaths and bridleways. You can explore all day and hardly see a soul. If you’d like a bit more hustle and bustle after all that tranquillity, the city of York is just 15 miles away.
Please note, Castle Howard House and Gardens are currently undergoing filming and closed to the public. The Gardens will re-open from 9th October, and the House from 13th November. The Farm Shop, Coffee Shop and Garden Centre will remain open daily from 10am.
