Owl Barn is one of just four cottages at Kernock Cottages. Conveniently located close to the Devon border the cottage is just perfect for exploring both Cornwall and Devon.

The property sleeping up to six is ideal for families and couples alike and is spacious with three double bedrooms, all with ensuite bath or shower room. The kitchen has everything you could possibly need during your stay and has top branded fittings and equipment to hand. The living and dining areas are contemporary and stylish and offer cosy, yet spacious living.
Owl Barn is just as luxurious outside as in with a beautiful has a south-facing deck area where guests can dine al fresco using the Weber barbecue, table and chairs, and a private lawn area. Guests also love the large, covered hot tub to relax in after a day of exploring the surrounding areas.
Delightfully situated on a private estate this is the ideal family escape. The cottages are dog-friendly and have won both the Cornwall and the SouthWest Awards for Dog-friendly Business of the Year.
The garden is on two levels. Approaching down the steps from the car park, there is a lawned area, then directly in front of the cottage is a decked area, complete with Weber gas barbecue, outdoor dining table and chairs, and a bench. The downstairs garden (accessed through the house) is fully fenced for your dogs, and is where you will find the magnificent eight-seater hot tub, which is housed under a gazebo (with lighting) and has fabulous valley views. This is the place to watch the sun go down - it is the best vantage point for sunset - and for gazing at the stars in our dark-skies area.
The lower level gives onto the fully fenced downstairs garden and the hot tub. There are two bedrooms on this level - one with a kingsize bed and ensute shower room (and plenty of space for a cot) and the other has ziplock singles which can be a superking double or twin beds. The ensuite has a large corner bath.
First Floor Description
The main entrance to Owl Barn from the terrace is on the first floor (the cottage is built into a slope). On this level is a very bright and airy kitchen/dining room with double height ceiling. The circular beechwoood table seats up to ten guests (perfect if your family group books Owl and Tree Barns together). To the right of the entrance is the master bedroom, with superking bed and ensuite shower room, and French windows onto the deck
Second Floor and Above Description
Upstairs from the kitchen you will find the galleried sitting room, which has a four-seater and a three-seater sofa, arm chair, and several giant bean bags. The "magic" table contains a farm to keep the youngsters amused, and there is an oak chest containing board games. Cross the bridge to the other end of the room, and there is a small study area, with an armchair and beanbags for quiet reading, or listening to music. There is a stunning round window with magnificent views down the valley.
Window Views Description
The beauty of Kernock is that you feel like you are in the middle of nowhere, while being only 6 miles from Plyouth. Your views from the cottage are of the fields and woods of the valley, with gently rolling hills in the background. We have resident kestrels and buzzards as well as a healthy rabbit and squirrel population (which will keep the dogs entertained!).
