St Ives is a beautiful traditional Cornish fishing village, surrounded by beaches and set around a pretty arc shaped working harbour, where fisherman land a daily catch of fresh sea food to supply its plethora of cafes and restaurants, some like the Michelin Plate, Porthminster Beach Café, set right on the beach, with a stunning view to match the food, St Ives has inspired many artists and a tour of its galleries and boutiques among its cobbled streets will showcase this or to see famous work visit the Tate St Ives and the Barbara Hepworth Museum and Sculpture Garden. Treat yourself to a night out at Cornwall’s open air theatre, the Minack is dramatically cut out of a Cornish cliff with the Atlantic Ocean as a backdrop, its near Land’s End, so you could grab a selfie by its iconic sign-post first, on your way back stop at the majestic St Michaels Mount, a castle set on its own island near Penzance, at low tide you can even venture out to it on foot via a man-made causeway of granite setts, if seeing Cornwall on television or the big screen inspired your visit many of the historic tin mines, quaint harbours and hidden coves, seen in Poldark, Doc Martin and Fisherman’s Friends to name a few, can be visited, for a little excitement how about walking above the tree tops of a rain forest, via a canopy walkway at the Eden Project near, St Austell.
