If you are looking to escape for a holiday or special break with a loved one then The Gamekeeper's Cottage in North Devon may well be the perfect choice. Delightfully situated to explore this beautiful part of the country, the cottage is located within easy reach of both coast and country. These very special places include: the stunning white sands at Saunton Sands, the picturesque seaside villages of as Appledore, Clovelly and Bude and the world famous Dartmoor.
We are proud to say that we have been awarded 5 stars and a Gold Star by Visit England.
The cottage has been fitted and furnished to a very high standard and is both light and airy in the spring and summer and warm and cosy in the cooler months. There is a luxury bedroom and bathroom, a fully equipped kitchen as well as a sitting room area with large sofa and a woodburning stove. The perfect place to plan tomorrows activities.
Outside the private garden offering 2 patios to relax on. The patio at the rear of the cottage offers the perfect place to enjoy meals as it gets the sun all day. The second patio at the side of the cottage adjacent to the front door is where the wood fired hot tub is situated.
There are sun loungers and parasols ready for a relaxing day in the garden. There are fire pits and a charcoal bbq ready for summer evenings and blankets for cooler evenings. There is also an Ooni pizza oven with 2 balls of homemade pizza dough supplied for your own wood fired pizzas.

Outside Description
The cottage has its own private garden to the side and rear of the cottage. Opposite the front door is a patio area with the wood fired hot tub. This can be lit for your arrival, just let us know if this is what you would like. There are plenty of logs provided which are from our 14 acre woodland. The hot tub has lighting and there are fairy lights along the fence behind the hot tub. Although it is often better to sit in the hot tub in the dark as there is no light pollution and shooting stars. can often be seen. At the rear of the cottage there is a patio area with a rattan dining table and 4 chairs and to the side of this is an area of shrubs. In the summer there are rattan sun loungers and a parasol. There are 2 fire pits and an Ooni Pizza oven for your use. Homemade pizza dough is in the freezer if you wish to try your hand at pizza making. The fire pits also have BBQ facilities. All charcoal and logs are provided. Seasonal herbs are in pots around the patio when available. The private garden backs onto the owners garden which guests can walk through to access the private woodland. There are walks from the cottage.
Downstairs Description
The cottage is all on one floor. When you enter through the front door you will step into the open plan kitchen/diner/sitting area. This comprises of a 42" HD Sony Bravia 4K Smart TV, woodturning stove with all the logs provided, large sofa to relax on and plenty of books and maps to help you plan your day. There is a dining table and sideboard which is well stocked with glasses and crockery. The kitchen area has a fan oven, 4 ring induction hob, Gorenje fridge/freezer and everything you need to cook and prepare your meals. There are also plenty of dried herbs and spices. The bedroom is off to the left of the front door which has a king size bed from Loaf with a 3000 pocket sprung natural mattress with 100 % cotton bedding, feather and down duvet and pillows, there are synthetic duvet and pillows available in case of allergies. There is a wardrobe with plenty of hangers, and a cupboard with hairdryer. Bedside tables and lamps and an armchair to relax in. There are also towelling robes on the back of the door to keep you warm when using the hot tub. The bathroom is off the open plan sitting/kitchen. This comprises of a double ended roll top bath, spacious shower, toilet and sink. There are fluffy towelling robes and towels for your use. There are Neals Yard toiletries and local toiletries for your use along with plenty of toilet rolls. There is a large velux window in the bathroom allowing plenty of light and star watching. There is underfloor heating throughout the cottage to ensure you never feel cold.
Window Views Description
The bedroom has views out the front of the cottage over the vegetable garden and woodland and the side bedroom window has views towards Buckland House. The rear of the cottage has French doors that lead out to the patio area and looks out across the owners garden and the private woodland. The garden provides privacy from shrubs and is fenced. The front door looks out over the hot tub and towards Buckland House. The bathroom has a window that looks out over the vegetable garden.
