This is your chance to stay in a beautiful period townhouse, right in the heart of the ancient Cathedral Quarter of historic Lincoln. Sleeping up to 6 guests in 3 spacious bedrooms, the house nestles on a quaint cobbled street next to Lincoln's iconic cathedral and castle. From its position at the top of Lincoln's world-famous Steep Hill, The Lincoln House enjoys glorious views across the city to the front while scanning medieval rooftops and magnificent cathedral towers to the rear.
This elegant house offers the highest standards of accommodation. There is a first floor lounge with comfortable furniture and flat screen tv. A selection of DVDs and books are provided. There is access to Netflix and this luxury holiday rental has free WIFI throughout.
The kitchen and dining area are fully equipped and ideal for entertaining and self-catered dining. Or, you may prefer to take a stroll to the neighbouring eateries of the Bailgate, Castle Square and Steep Hill to sample the multitude of bars, cafes and restaurants on offer.
There is a WC on the ground floor and family bathroom upstairs in between the two top floor bedrooms. This has a roll top bath and overhead shower.
Please note that this is a three storey period townhouse with lots of stairs so might not be suitable for anyone finding stairs difficult.
The house has a car park permit, allowing guests to park in nearby resident parking spaces.
Stairs from outside the front door lead up to an enclosed patio area, equipped with cafe style tables and chairs and outside lighting.
A visitors parking permit enables one vehicle to park in any nearby resident's car parking space. There is also a reasonably priced car park just behind the house in Castle Square.
The front door leads in to a small hallway with downstairs loo and a dining room to the left, kitchen to the right. The dining room has table and chairs for six people. The kitchen is fully equipped with fridge freezer, cooker, microwave, kettle, washer drier, dishwasher and a range of teas/coffees. Cleaning materials, iron and ironing board are all provided for your convenience.
First Floor Description
Up the first flight of stairs leads to the first floor lounge and third bedroom. The lounge has a beautiful bay window, overlooking the cobbles of Wordsworth Street and Steep Hill and providing hill top views of the city. There is an ornate fireplace, large leather sofa, comfy armchairs and piles of cushions. The flat screen TV/DVD player also provides Netflix and a wide range of DVDs is provided.
The third bedroom has a single bed - with the option of a second single if needed. This pretty bedroom leads out through french windows onto the enclosed patio - perfect for enjoying drinks while listening to the cathedral bells!
Second Floor and Above Description
The top floor houses two lovely double bedrooms and the shared bathroom. The front bedroom has a kingsize double bed, mirrored dressing table furniture and quaint fireplace. The rear bedroom has a queen size double bed and enjoys glorious views of rooftops and cathedral spires. The bathroom has a roll top bath and power shower. Toiletries, Egyptian cotton towels and linens are provided throughout.
Window Views Description
The first and second floor windows to the front of this property allow lovely views over the cobbles of Wordsworth St and Steep Hill - to the city below. The windows to the rear look over medieval rooftops and the magnificent cathedral towers, especially beautiful when lit up at night.
