Bluebell of Lofthouse is an 19th century chocolate box cottage with two luxury en-suite bedrooms sleeping four people, situated in the heart of Lofthouse village in the beautiful Nidderdale valley near Harrogate, York and Skipton.
This heavenly abode has been lovingly restored to enchant those looking for a quiet private escape in the Yorkshire Dales. Bluebell of Lofthouse has been beautifully furnished with characterful rustic country “Knock your wellies off style” throughout.
Whichever direction you arrive at Bluebell, the scenery will take your breath away, you can enjoy the drive and soak up the countryside. The shops are a short drive away so don’t forget to stop in Pateley Bridge and pick up some fresh produce from the many locally owned traditional stores.

Bluebell has the one foot in one foot out appeal. Set within the rolling hills of Nidderdale offering the peace and tranquillity of the Yorkshire Dales countryside, yet the bustling Victorian spa town of Harrogate less than 35 minutes’ drive away.
There are bags of local attractions and stunning natural sights within easy driving distance including the famous Brimham Rocks, Cold Stones Cut and Fountains Abbey to name a few. With miles of stunning walks and mountain bike trails literally from the doorstep, the cottage is perfect for lovers of all things outdoors.
There are a number of nearby quaint & charming Yorkshire villages including Pateley Bridge (aka The Capital of Nidderdale), Grassington and Ripley.

• Harrogate is an elegant Victorian Spa town, well known for being the “foodie capital” of the North. Filled with mainstream and independent bars, restaurants and cafes there is no shortage of places to eat! James street is lined with the most desirable exquisite stores and boutiques, so you can shop till you drop!
• Ilkley is a shopping town that sells everything from game, fine wine, expensive fashions and fine art. The Victorian parades of the Grove and Brook Street also have a selection of interesting speciality stores. The town's original Victorian arcade has been beautifully restored as an indoor shopping walkway complete with elegant fountain and blooming hanging baskets. Bettys, the Yorkshire tea room, also has a shop in the town so you can stock up on some afternoon tea essentials.
• Skipton, know as the gateway to the magnificent Yorkshire Dales. People travel the length and breadth of the country to visit this charming market town. With its famous 900-year-old castle, romantic ruined priory and historic cobbled High Street, Skipton is endlessly rich both in history and outstanding natural beauty.

Scar House Walking & Cycle Routes are a permissive bridleway loop around Yorkshire Water’s Scar House Reservoir which comes to 4 miles and crosses both dams at the top of the valley.For walkers it can be extended with a further loop of rough yomping around Angram Reservoir to the remote top of Nidderdale under the shadow of Great Whernside, a peak of 704m which separates Nidderdale and Wharfedale.The route is well surfaced up the southern side of the reservoir and over the dam of Angram reservoir, while the return along the northern side of Scar House of Reservoir is fields and uneven track.The Dams were built to provide water to the Bradford area and were completed in 1936.Scar house damn contains over one million tonnes of masonry and from the centre viewing platform visitors can look out over the valley from a height of over 70 meters.This point is also the geographical halfway point of the Nidderdale way.There is a free car park and facilities at the end of the 3 mile access road.Turn right between the two gate posts when leaving lofthouse, look for the blue Yorkshire Water sign.
