Large and full of character, it sits on the edge of a traditional Devon farmyard. Leave your boots in the hall and wander into the cosy sitting room with its exposed beams, and from there step into the bright sunroom—perfect for sunny days.
The kitchen is fully equipped for preparing meals to enjoy around the big, sociable dining table, which sits beside an open fire and intriguingly began life as an old dough trough. Upstairs are four comfortable bedrooms, each offering a peaceful place to unwind after busy days exploring the area or making the most of the farm’s facilities.
Outside, just 20 yards from the house, is your own spacious, enclosed garden, complete with lawn, trees, a stream, and a barbecue. Beyond the garden lies as much freedom and fun as you could wish for. You’re welcome to roam the 250-acre farm, lend a hand when possible, picnic by the pond, swim in the shared seasonal outdoor pool, play tennis, and make use of the shared games room and gym.
You can also arrange clay pigeon shooting, archery, or mountain bike hire with the friendly owners (small extra charges apply). The surrounding open moorland and the Granite Way cycle trail offer wonderful routes for cycling or walking. If you have horses, you’re welcome to bring them too—stabling and grazing are available. Nearby, you can also arrange golf or gliding, and Roadford Lake offers excellent water sports.
