St Michael’s Cottage is one of Wells’ oldest buildings and as such there are uneven floor levels and steps both within and outside the property. The staircases inside the property are enclosed, steep, curved and narrow Norfolk winder stairs. We would advise that the house would not be suitable for those less mobile. In Scots Gaelic, “cúil” denotes “nook,” “nest,” or “corner.” Since we have made a cozy nest for two people on the corner of our croft, we felt that this was a fitting name for this area.
One king-size bed, a dining area and seating area, a small kitchen with a refrigerator, microwave, and two-burner induction range, and an opulent shower room with a mains pressure rain shower and a Fired Earth limestone floor are all included in the open-plan studio. An elevated private sundeck area with breathtaking views is another advantage of the Cúil. The studio is flooded with light from the large sliding patio doors, and the king-size bed provides a comfortable place to enjoy the views.
The bedding consists of a waffle duvet cover and sheets made exclusively of cotton. Along with the hair dryer, freesat smart TV, USB and Type C charging ports, free WiFi, and a portable Bose Bluetooth speaker, we also provide waffle robes and slippers.
A couple of love seats are available on the terrace for enjoying a coffee in the morning or a sundowner as the evening light fades. To keep you warm, blankets are available for use outside on the sundeck.

Wesleyan church, a magnificent converted church with a carefully considered and well-curated plan that highlights the exceptional unobstructed views of the surrounding Yorkshire Dales, was constructed in 1884 with many Gothic Revival architectural elements. The recent renovation has made sure that many of these traditional features now merge perfectly with all the modern comforts you would expect in a truly lovely rural hideaway, thanks to the property’s ideal location on the Bolton Abbey Estate.
The spacious open-plan living space with classic vaulted ceilings that evoke an atmosphere of old-world charm and warmth is accessible from the lovely white wooden entrance. Separating the cosy living area from the contemporary fully equipped kitchen and dining area with a big island and antique church pews, the room’s focal point is the dual aspect wood burning fireplace and open chimney breast.
Wesleyan Chapel has four spacious bedrooms (two double four poster beds and a super-king that may be made into twin beds upon request) that can accommodate up to eight people. The bedrooms are located down a stone staircase on the lower floor. Every bedroom is furnished with heritage colours and classic designs, and each has its own bathroom. All the bathrooms have cosy underfloor heating.
The patio outside has a seating area that is thoughtfully designed to optimise the enjoyment of the peace and quiet as well as the breathtaking views of Barden Bridge and the Wharfe Valley.
Enjoy a hot tub on the outdoor patio while taking in the pristine views of the Yorkshire Dales and beyond. For the most unforgettable outdoor dining experience, there is also a large seating area and a barbecue. Please be aware that in order to perform necessary water testing, the Bolton Abbey Estates team needs daily access to the hot tub. Every Monday through Friday between 9 a.m. and 4 p.m., the hot tub will be drained, cleaned, and refilled. There is no need to enter the cottage.
The neighbouring Devonshire Spa is open to Wesleyan Chapel guests for £7.50 per person. Reservations are required for 45-minute timed periods, which are available from 7 a.m. to 6 p.m. Treatments, prolonged use of the spa’s amenities, and lunch are all included in the spa day experiences that are offered. Little Star is a lovely romantic cottage for two that is tucked away in the charming village of Ringstead, only two miles from the stunning Old Hunstanton beach. It exudes rustic coastal charm with wooden beams and floorboards and lots of elegant character.

The Barn, which dates back to the 19th century, has undergone extensive renovations to create the perfect getaway spot for family or friends, being located at the southernmost tip of the Isle of Wight surrounded by National Trust downland and glorious coastal walks, just a short stroll will take you down to the Lighthouse. During the renovation the roof was lifted to make space for two bedrooms upstairs, decorated in light colours and wood painted floors, both have south facing views over the garden and English Channel beyond. The ground floor is open plan and designed in a contemporary style with a wood burner to relax by with a good book and a glass of wine! The kitchen is well equipped if you feel like cooking or pop round the corner to our local Inn. Butley Priory is unlike any other place in the world. considered “one of the most romantic houses in England” by Vogue. This historic Grade 1 listed structure, which is only 700 years old, has lately undergone exquisite restoration to create an incredibly comfortable space. It is a memorable place to stay because of its Gothic architecture, spacious reception halls with vaulted ceilings, and burning log fireplaces.
The only structures left from the ancient 20-acre estate are the Refectory barn, the Rere-Dorter, and the Priory, which was established in the 12th century as the gatehouse to an Augustinian Priory.
