If you are looking majestic country house for a holiday, group break with extended family and friends or as the venue to celebrate a special event or occasion the Assynt House in The Scottish Highlands ticks all of the boxes.
This stunning Grade II-listed Georgian Mansion can accommodate up to 14 guests plus cots in seven, elegant en-suite bedrooms. At Assynt House the whole party can dine together as a self-catering stay courtesy of the spacious and wood panelled drawing room with open log fire, three large sofas and a dining table seating 14. The kitchen is excellently equipped with a wonderful picture window overlooking the gardens. You may prefer in-house catering, from formal dinners to one-pot meals, freshly prepared for you to serve yourself.

6 acres of garden and woodland welcome you at Assynt House. The garden to the front of the property boasts a wonderful walled flower bed and terraced lawns, with outdoor table and chairs seating 14. Leading on from here you can explore the rest of the garden, with stream and woodland, there is a large lawn area to the side of the house. The owners live in a cottage behind the main house, rest assured that it is not attached in any way and you have total privacy and private garden. It is a very peaceful setting with a great many walks which can be taken from the doorstep. There is a large gas BBQ for your use and ample log storage.
On the lower ground floor there are three super-king bedrooms, contemporary in design, two of these bedrooms can be made up as twin rooms, if desired. The Caithness flagstone floor is heated throughout the lower ground floor. There is a spacious TV room with leather sofas, lots of children's toys and board games. One this floor you will find a toilet and also extra fridge and freezer space.
First Floor Description
Enter the house via stone steps which lead in to the front hall, there is a sitting room with open fire and a spacious kitchen with everything you need to entertain large numbers. The drawing room is wood lined and has three large sofas and an open fire. The dining room leads on from here and the large mahogany dining table is wonderful to sit together and enjoy each other company. The dining room also has an open log fire. There is a toilet on this floor and stairs leading to the first floor and lower ground floor.
Second Floor and Above Description
Upstairs you will find four spacious en-suite bedrooms, all with super-king beds, two for which can be made up as twin beds. A cast iron spiral staircase leads to a small snug at the very top of the house, equipped with computer and printer and lots of books to read.
All bedrooms have plenty of towels, dressing gowns, organic toiletries and daily housekeeping ensures you can relax fully and staying at Assynt House is a real treat!
Window Views Description
The house overlooks the beautiful gardens with views towards the Black Isle and the Cromarty Firth in a very peaceful area of the Scottish Highlands. Wildlife is plentiful and guests often spot deer, pheasant and grouse from the windows of Assynt House.
