This is your chance to stay at this luxurious Scottish Highlands house for larger groups and extended families. The house is the ideal venue for a holiday, shorter break or to celebrate a special occasions and family get-togethers. The house has been rated as "5-star" by the Scottish Tourist Board.
Embo House is an elegant, Grade A listed Georgian mansion overlooking the sea. It has been furnished to a very high standard with period and contemporary décor throughout. Most of the large windows are at the front of the house, giving stunning views from every room. 7 of the 8 Bedrooms at Embo House have sea views and all have en-suite bathrooms. The ground floor and gardens include a well-equipped kitchen, dining room, library, games room, whisky bar and practice pitching area.
The area is world-famous for golf, with Royal Dornoch Golf Club and a host of other excellent links courses nearby. But North-East Scotland is also perfect for those who love the great outdoors, with walking, cycling, fishing or bird-watching just some of the many activities available around Dornoch.

Outside Description
Outside, the eight acres of grounds are laid down partly as a formal, enclosed garden and partly as woodland. There is plenty of space for children of all ages to play. There is a large barbecue and outside seating on the terrace. Nearby, in the glass summerhouse, peaches apricots and grapes all grow to full ripeness, and this is a great place for an evening drink. Golfers will enjoy the golf pitching area (complete with water hazard and bunker), while pirates will feel at home in the tree-house! A path from the garden leads directly down to the award-winning Dornoch/Embo beach, with its white sands and navy sea. Walking a couple of miles north takes you to Loch Fleet (SSSI) - and a couple of miles south to the Dornoch Firth (SSSI).
Downstairs Description
Downstairs there are a plethora of light and airy spaces, meaning all your guests can find their perfect spot. The Kitchen is the most contemporary space. It is well-equipped for keen cooks or visiting chefs and also features a wood-burning stove and wall-mounted TV. The breakfast table seats 8. Next door is the grand, red dining room which seats 16. Across the hall, is the cosy sitting room. This is furnished with comfy sofas and has a large, open fire. It also has a smart TV. Down the corridor from here is the games room/ whisky bar. One end on the room houses a pool table and a giant TV (complete with Sky Sport) whilst the other end has more of a pub vibe, with bar stools up against the well'stocked whisky bar - and leather sofas arranged around. At the other end of the house, guests will find the peaceful, cedar and book-lined library. This also has an open fire and spaces for reading, chatting or playing games. Last, but by no means least, for golfers and walkers, the house is equipped with a club store and extensive boot room/drying room area.
First Floor Description
Most of the bedrooms are on the first floor, though they are arranged in 3, separate areas. In the west wing, above the Library, is the Master suite. Both bedroom and bathroom are double-aspect, with views over the sea and over the gardens. The bathroom includes a double jacuzzi bath. In the main house, there are two additional, generously proportioned bedrooms with super-king beds and en-suite bathrooms, as there are also in the east wing.
Second Floor Description
There is only a second floor in the main part of the house. This accommodates 3 extra en-suite double bedrooms.
Window Views Description
Having been built by a Georgian architect, Embo House is blessed with very large windows, and most of them look out to the Dornoch Firth. Catching the sun rise over the sea can be a very special experience. The view is forever changing and forever magical.
