Located on the edge of the beautiful Peak District National Park and close to the charming Staffordshire Moorlands, Hillside Croft is a gorgeous, Grade II-listed, luxury self-catering cottage brimming with character and charm.
Sleeping up to 14 guests in total comfort, the cottage is ideal for large families and groups wishing to take a break or celebrate a special occasion together. With fabulous walks and cycle tracks close your front door, activities galore and plenty of sightseeing opportunities, you will also be only a short stroll from the nearby village and a choice of two dining pubs.
Due to uncertainty as to what any future rules might be when the hospitality industry reopens, especially concerning how many people may meet in a group indoors, we are taking bookings as usual but subject to the following flexible cancellation policy.
In particular, if at the time of your holiday any relevant rules would apply with would restrict your numbers, we will offer you the following options:
1. to rebook,
2. a full refund, or
3. to shrink your booking to the reduced rate.
Likewise, if at the time of your holiday the relevant rules would be relaxed, we will offer you the following options:
4. to keep your booking, or
5. to expand your booking to our standard rate.
Finally, if at the time of your holiday either a lockdown or a local lockdown (on the part of either ourselves or the hirer) applies, we will again offer you the following options:
6. to rebook, or
7. a full refund.
This charming country cottage is surrounded by landscaped, flower-filled gardens – including a well-fenced nature pond – and undulating pastureland. Bustling with birds and rich with wildlife, the wider area and its footpaths are wonderful to explore or take a stroll!
Towards the rear of the property, Hillside Croft has a sheltered patio area with a hardwood table and chairs, an umbrella, barbeque, chimenea and hot tub – perfect after a hard day’s relaxing!
A large, off-road, private parking area is readily accessible next to the property.
Our characterful, homely farmhouse kitchen is the heart of the property, consisting of handmade antique pine kitchen units, a double French pottery sink, granite surfaces and a tiled floor. Looking out onto a picturesque rear garden, with various herbs, blackberries and fruit trees planted for the gourmet in you, it is perfect for hosting large groups of friends and family! The kitchen comes with a full electric halogen cooker with a double oven, a slow cooker and a microwave, a fridge and a fridge-freezer, a dishwasher, a washing machine and a tumble drier, as well as an adjoining WC by the rear entrance.
Next to the kitchen is the dining room, comfortably seating 10 to 12 at its large farmhouse table, with extra seating for up to 16 and all the crockery you might need. With a log burner set under an impressive inglenook fireplace, it offers a particularly comfortable space for eating, drinking and playing games!
Across the main entrance from the dining room is a separate lounge area, with three sofas and one comfy chair comfortably seating 10. The lounge comes with a HDTV and Freeview, a DVD player and a packed bookcase – ideal for when you just want to relax!
First Floor Description
Walking up the first flight of stairs, to the left is a twin bedroom and further along the landing is an en-suite master bedroom, with its own power shower, WC and wash basin and shaving sockets.
A fabulous, spacious master bathroom completes the layout, with a large Victorian-style, roll-topped bath and shower, a separate walk-in power shower, a WC and a wash basin and shaving sockets. A potty and a WC stand are provided for children.
Second Floor and Above Description
Taking the second flight of stairs, to the left is a double bedroom while to the right are two linked double bedrooms. Distributed among all of these rooms are a further four low-lying single beds.
