The contemporary, luxury ground level chalet is furnished and fitted to an exceedingly high standard and is immaculate in every way. All the way along the front of the Hideaway is a wall of glass bringing the outside in! Surrounded by scenic countryside and wonderful walks from the doorstep you will love the peace and quiet, huge skies, sun rise and sun sets and out of this world views. Hares hop on by, deer jump in and out of the wood and the only noise is bird song and twit too from tawny owls and a screech from barn owls. A perfect place for holidays in Spring, Summer, Autumn and Winter.
The open plan sitting room/dining area/kitchen has under floor heating and wood burner with a comfortable L – shaped sofa and smart TV.
The kitchen is well equipped with dish washer, coffee machine and coffee grinder, fridge freezer, electric cooker and microwave and dresser for glasses and plates.
A spacious bedroom with a super comfortable king- size divan bed is to the west side of the chalet and to the east side of the chalet is a compact twin bedroom and smart travertine shower room with bathroom products and bath robes. Towels are provided and beds made with lovely linen.
All are identical inside and out and good space between them. Perfect for couples wanting a quiet time or a family using as a base.
Outside there is a wonderful wood fired hot tub and an outdoor shower, table and chairs and fun banana-shaped swing seats, BBQ.
The Hideaways are on an organic farm with sheep and growing oats and sun flowers for birds and bees and everyone to enjoy.
Orchard Cottage is one of just three luxury holiday lodges at Eden Holiday Hideaways set in a secret corner of the Scottish Borders just four miles from Kelso, a bustling market town. A day trip to Northumberland is special, Alnwick Castle and Gardens, beaches, Ford and Etal and Berwick upon Tweed and it’s lovely beaches is just 18 miles.
Eden Valley Hideaways presents three beautiful, detached eco-lodges with Scandinavian inspired contemporary design and luxurious attention to detail. Each hidden gem is set apart providing a peaceful, relaxing atmosphere with a wood-fired hot tub, decking and a panoramic 180* view over the rolling Borders countryside to the Cheviot hills on the horizon.
Through all seasons, you can watch the weather play over the Cheviot hills on the southern horizon from the woodfired hot tub, the swinging chairs, the relaxing sofa or the king size bed. Set on an organic farm, nature comes calling. Hares lop through the fence, small birds chatter in the sunflowers, barn owls float by on the hunt, and colourful butterflies and wildflowers dance on your doorstep. The farm invites you outside. Walk along the meandering Eden Water, over the wooden bridge and on to the River Tweed if you fancy a longer stretch of legs, or instead, loop back along a treelined avenue for a game of tennis on the all weather surface nearby. This might sound too energetic; sunbathing on the decking with a book or bobbing in the hot tub with a cool refreshment involve minimal effort, and give you a feast for the eyes as you settle in to enjoy the surrounding landscape.
Each unit brings the outside to the inside. The bright and spacious king size bedroom has an extremely comfortable bed with crisp, Egyptian linens. You can unpack into upcycled quirky furniture, and then relax on the huge armchair. Enormous windows maximise the view; wearing white cotton robes, wander along the wooden decking and smooth stone pathway to your own woodfired hot tub, with bubble jets and lighting to help you relax at any time of day or night. There is an outdoor shower too, and tables and chairs for dining outside in the meadow surrounding the hideaway.
The living space has a comfy corner sofa and large footrest giving a relaxing place to settle in front of the wall-mounted TV (access to Netflix / prime / iplayer etc provided) - for cosy nights in or rainy days. The sleek, easy-to-light log burner is a central feature and provides a lovely heat which warms the well-insulated space very quickly. There is a dining table and chairs inside, and also outside for fair weather. The well equipped kitchen provides a compact space to prepare meals and serve them on lovely, modern white crockery. There is a large fridge/freezer and a quiet dishwasher, as well as a microwave, electric oven and hob. If cooking is too much, you can order locally made ready meals for the freezer to use as and when you please, or explore Kelso, only a couple of miles away, with a variety of takeaways and restaurants. Little details stand out: a coffee grinder and beans are provided so you can use the Italian coffee maker to make yourselves a fantastic coffee.
There is a small second bedroom with comfortable twin beds, quirky linen, underbed storage drawers and of course full size windows bringing the views to you.
The shower room has a gorgeous rain effect shower, and is tiled with travertine bringing a luxury spa feel. The gorgeous-smelling shampoo and shower gel complete this effect, along with the heated floors and towel rails.
Each hideaway provides all you need for a relaxing, luxurious, spacious retreat from the world. You can tuck yourselves in cosily for some R&R or adventure out into the farm and wider world – whatever suits you, in whatever weather arrives.
Wonderful views across the Tweed Valley to the Cheviot Hills on the horizon. Woods, grass, flowers, birds galore, sun flowers in the summer, river walks at the bottom of the field. Decking with swing chairs and garden furniture. Hot tub. Oak wood fun to explore. Sunrise and sun sets behind with views of Hume Castle.
This wonderful chalet is all on ground level so perfect for a family and couples. The sitting room is open plan with the dining area and kitchen making it a wonderful and sociable space. The king-size room is very spacious and the twin room is the other end of the chalet and is compact. The luxury shower room is the same side as the twin room.
