Plum Tree Cottage is a small, quirky cottage for two an on an organic farm in a secret corner of the Scottish Borders, just 3 miles from Kelso. A perfect place for exploring for the Scottish Borders and Northumberland and its magnificent beaches.
Plum Tree is so cosy as it is heated by biomass heating and always an abundance of hot water, perfect for winter breaks.
The galley kitchen is well equipped with electric cooker, microwave, slow cooker, coffee machine, fridge, table and chairs . The galley kitchen is adjacent to the small sitting room which has a comfortable sofa, wood burner, smart TV and French windows out to the south facing patio with lovely swing seats and recliners, table and chairs. Bathroom with over bath shower. Spiral stairs wind their way up through the beams to the bedroom with a new super comfortable divan king-size bed and another set of French windows and two chairs where you can relax and enjoy a refreshment and take in the splendid view morning, noon or night.
Plum Tree Cottage is perfect for the couple looking for a quirky, charming cottage on the west side of Plum Braes Barn next to Garden Bank Cottage which is a ground level cottage.
Kelso is a bustling market town with a farmer’s market, Kelso Abbey, Floors Castle (the oldest inhabited castle in Scotland), lovely shops, cafes, pubs and restaurants.
Meals are available to be delivered (ask Maggie in advance or see my website for contact details) so you can arrive to a 3 course meal or enjoy a meal or two during your stay. Why not dine in private surroundings with a lovely view! ) if you would like to relax and take a break from cooking during your stay this is a great option. If you like to be active during your stay, there is a tennis court on the farm (tennis coaching available), lovely walks beside the River Eden, where you will see our organic sheep grazing and spot otter, kingfisher, swans and deer in the woodland. On the farm we grow organic oats and flowers which are available to buy in our tiny farm shop along with fresh eggs and other produce. This cosy country cottage offers a peaceful and tranquil getaway for two with wonderful views over the Eden and Tweed valleys towards the Cheviot hills.
Lovely views, sunny sheltered area for dining and relaxing on the swing seats and recliners. Lovely walks from the door on the organic farm, river walks and through woods. Kelso is 3 miles and a lovely walk in for lunch. Also good biking.

Bathroom with bath with over bath shower, heated towel rail and endless supply of hot water and heating and adjacent to the bathroom is a small mirrored area for makeup and hooks and a small place for a case. Well equipped galley kitchen with dining table, patio and garden furniture.

Bedroom reached by spiral stairs with french - windows and lovely views. Quirky and bright. Two comfortable chairs positioned perfectly for enjoying our special Scottish Border views and there is no where better to watch the early morning sunrise or a gin and tonic under the moon and stars.
