Plum Tree Cottage is a small, quirky cottage for two an on an organic farm in a secret corner of the Scottish Borders, just three miles from Kelso. A perfect place for exploring for the Scottish Borders and Northumberland and its magnificent beaches.
Plum Tree is so cosy as it is heated by biomass heating and always an abundance of hot water, perfect for winter breaks.
Plum Tree Cottage is perfect for the couple looking for a quirky, charming cottage on the west side of Plum Braes Barn next to Garden Bank Cottage which is a ground level cottage.
Kelso is a bustling market town with a farmer’s market, Kelso Abbey, Floors Castle (the oldest inhabited castle in Scotland), lovely shops, cafes, pubs and restaurants.
Meals are available to be delivered (ask Maggie in advance or see my website for contact details) so you can arrive to a three course meal or enjoy a meal or two during your stay, if you would like to relax and take a break from cooking during your stay this is a great option.
If you like to be active during your stay, there is a tennis court on the farm with tennis coaching available, lovely walks beside the River Eden, where you will see our organic sheep grazing and spot otter, kingfisher, swans and deer in the woodland. On the farm we grow organic oats and flowers which are available to buy in our tiny farm shop along with fresh eggs and other produce. This cosy country cottage offers a peaceful and tranquil getaway for two with wonderful views over the Eden and Tweed valleys towards the Cheviot hills.
