Our Lewis Longhouse is a luxurious, spacious holiday home-from-home. It is set just above a bay on the north- east of Lewis in the Outer Hebrides, 50 metres from the beach in this area of peaceful, natural beauty. Floor to ceiling windows offer uninterrupted views east to west in this, our special place to escape and relax or explore the island. Sit on the wraparound deck to watch the world go by and see weather change throughout the day.
It is a house built in a contemporary design with energy-conscious technology, resulting in a stunning, low-impact building which has won awards for its modern take on traditional Lewis houses, happy in its surroundings.
You have the joy of privacy in this south-facing house, but still have easy access to Stornoway via your own or public transport.
The house is located on a croft on the edge of a small village with open views around. Comfy garden chairs on the wraparound deck let you make the most of your own views to the beach and moor. We have a separate dining deck for al fresco eating on sunny days.
Lawned area of 1/4 acre with wild rushes to common grazing land at the bottom and birdsong.
There are 2 adult bikes in the garage for your use, plus a gas BBQ for sunny days.
This is a substantial, luxurious house designed by us to be our holiday home from home. On the ground floor, the double-height, open plan living/dining/kitchen area has floor to ceiling windows which help bring the outside in, making you feel part of your environment. Glass doors open onto the large deck.
Underfloor heating keeps oak floors warm underfoot and a multi-fuel stove keeps you cosy even in the wildest weather. The kitchen area is well stocked, with induction hob, ovens, wine chillers and fridge, dishwasher. There is storage along with Nespresso coffee machine, picnic gear, freezer and washing machine - in the utility room. The house is fully equipped to the highest standard with all you need for your perfect stay.
Bedrooms face south to make the most of the views. The master suite with superking bed, has a wet-room style ensuite. The second bedroom which can be made up for you as superking or twin, sits across from the bathroom which offers you a relaxing bath - gaze up at the sky through the roof window - and separate shower cubicle.

This upstairs space has a glass view onto the space below but provides a quiet relaxing area, sofa and different seating choices. A viewing balcony takes advantage again of views south over the bay on a sunny day. There is also a wifi-connected office area. Delve into boxes of board-games and dvds for a rainy day.
Window Views Description
Sit and soak up the views through floor-to-ceiling windows south to Broad Bay and rare reeds beds, taking in the day from stunning sunrises east over the bay to west for sunsets over the moors. The same open views are there when you open the curtains in both bedrooms and the open plan living space.
