A truly unique retreat in the heart of the Nottinghamshire countryside, The Pump House Art Studio is a beautifully restored, Grade II* listed former pump house, now a contemporary art space and luxury holiday let.
Dating back over 160 years, this historic building once helped drain the 1790 Mother Drain into the River Idle. Today, it has been transformed into a stylish haven filled with light, character, and original artwork by the owners and local artists.
Set in the peaceful village of Misterton, the property is one of two identical Victorian pump houses, affectionately named Kate and Ada, connected by a striking glass walkway over the water. Expect dramatic chimney stacks, expansive windows, and a beautiful blend of old and new throughout.
Inside, high ceilings and creative design define the living space. Relax on the plush sofa, enjoy the easel-mounted TV, or dine beneath statement lighting. The fully equipped kitchen features a unique breakfast bar and stylish grey tiling. A mezzanine lounge, library nook, and two artfully decorated double bedrooms complete the interior.
Outside, enjoy alfresco dining in the private garden or explore the local area on foot. Walk to nearby pubs, shops, and scenic river paths, or venture further to Lincoln, Idle Valley Nature Reserve, or the Yorkshire Wildlife Park.
Located on a designated Site of Special Scientific Interest (SSSI), the studio is surrounded by rich wildlife, including kingfishers, owls, and herons — a perfect setting for peace, inspiration, and a touch of adventure.
